Meet the Doulas Night

Coming up soon - another of our popular "meet the doula" events open to the public. Birth videos will be shown throughout the evening, with time for pregnant families and birth professionals to chat, and there will be free refreshments, free raffle prizes, and free ten-minute massages for pregnant women. Bring your expecting friends and meet other families and professionals in a fun setting!

MotherWoman's Postpartum Stress Support Group
Tuesdays, 10:15-12:15
Community Action Building, 56 Vernon St., Northampton, MA

MotherWoman has received a grant from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts to continue their Postpartum Stress Support Group through 2007. This group is specifically designed for mothers of babies and toddlers who are experiencing postpartum stress, depression or anxiety. This is the only group specifically designed for this population of mothers in the entire tri-county region.

The group is offered every Tuesday from 10:15-12:15 in the upstairs resource room at the Community Action Building at 56 Vernon St. Northampton. The group is free and drop in, with free onsite childcare in a separate childcare room. Free snacks provided as well. Facilitators include Annette Cycon, LICSW and the co-director of MotherWoman, and Liz Friedman, MotherWoman trained Facilitator with years of experience running mother's circles and working with mothers with PPD.

Pioneer Valley Cesarean/VBAC Support Network
First Monday of each month, 10-11:30 AM
Meeting Room, Greenfield Public Library

We are a peer-organized group dedicated to providing a safe place for women to process their cesarean birth experiences, receive support during pregnancies following a cesarean, and find resources and referrals for planning a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Our services are open to any woman who has experienced a cesarean and include:

  • Monthly meetings in Amherst for cesarean recovery and post-cesarean pregnancies
  • Resource and referral service
  • Home or hospital visit following a cesarean section
  • Individual peer support
