Give the Gift of Doula Support to a Mother in Need

Ways We Serve

The Green River Doula Network is committed to making doula services accessible to all pregnant women who need support, not just those who can afford it. Toward that end, we have created two very different community-based volunteer doula programs:

  • The Baystate Medical Center On-Call Doula Program in Springfield, MA, in which volunteer doulas sign up for days on call, and are called to work with patients of Baystate Midwifery and Women's Health who are in labor.
  • The Franklin Community Doula Project in Greenfield, MA, in which doulas are matched one-to-one with patients of Pioneer Women's Health during their pregnancies. They meet for prenatal visits, and the doula attends the birth and provides a postpartum visit.
  • We're in the beginning stages of a new project, Nurturing the Need, which will match doulas with low-income women in the Springfield area. Doulas will receive a stipend for providing prenatal and postpartum visits and labor support. Donations toward this fund are much needed and gratefully accepted.

As individual doulas, we also sometimes offer free or low-cost services to women in need on an individual basis. Women who are in a situation of great need are invited to submit a volunteer doula request.
