Childbirth Connection is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of maternity care. They have published wonderful information, including the Listening to Mothers survey and crucial information that compares the risks of cesarean and vaginal birth. They have a great summary of state-of-the-art reviews about the nature of labor pain and advantages and disadvantages of different methods of pain relief.

Consortium for the Evidence-Based Practice of Obstetrics
The goal of this organization is to promote public debate on improving our national maternity care policy. It also provides information on evidence-based birth care for healthy women with normal pregnancies to protect the ethical and constitutional rights of adult women to have control over the manner and circumstances of pregnancy and birth.
Citizens for Midwifery
The only national consumer-based group promoting the Midwives' Model of Care. CfM works to provide information and resources that promote the local midwife, as well as midwives and midwifery care across the country.
