Personal Statement:
I am passionate about supporting women in the childbearing year, and doula work is my full-time profession. I have supported over fifty women (and their partners) during labor and birth. I have been a postpartum doula for over forty families, and have extensive experience with families with twins.
I am a certified labor doula, postpartum doula and childbirth educator through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA). I have a master's degree in anthropology with a focus in medical anthropology and the postpartum issues of stress, anxiety and depression. I offer postpartum overnight services as I believe sleep is essential to health and that sleep deprivation can exacerbate postpartum issues.
Parents who work with me enjoy my calm, down-to-earth approach and appreciate my encouragement to ask questions about their care and explore their options. I nurture each woman as she moves through the major life transition of becoming a mother, helping her to find her own voice during labor and birth, build confidence in her ability to nurture her child, and gain energy to move forward with her new family.
I also offer Prenatal Thai Yoga bodywork, which is particularly beneficial for women seeking to ease the natural stresses of adapting physically, mentally, and emotionally to pregnancy.
Postpartum Doula Services
I am a CAPPA-certified labor and postpartum doula with experience and research in the postpartum issues of stress, anxiety and depression. Sleep deprivation can exacerbate these postpartum issues. I believe sleep is essential to health, so I offer overnight services designed to help you more adequately meet your sleep needs.
Thai Yoga bodywork continues to be beneficial during the postpartum period. Thai Yoga bodywork releases stress and promotes relaxation, helping your mind, body, and spirit connect and heal as you move forward in your role as Mother.
