Personal Statement:
I have been fascinated with childbirth ever since my mother told me the story of how I was born. Little did she know it would affect me the way it did! I have been a DONA trained doula since 2007 and have a passion for all things related to childbirth.
I recently spent 4 months in South Africa, studying community health and specifically childbirth and maternal health. I attended over 30 births, including several cesarean sections.
Although I am a strong advocate for natural birth, I understand that every woman deserves to have the childbirth of her chosing. Women have the right to be educated about all the choices available to them, and the support to make an empowered decision. I believe that the role of a doula is to educate, support and empower women through the childbearing process.
I have experience with natural childbirth, water birth, epidural birth, cesarean birth (both in South Africa and in the US), twin births and many more of the amazing things that can happen during childbirth!
I love this work, it is my passion! As your doula, I am there to make sure you have the birth you want, the birth you deserve; I am there to serve you.
